The greatest vertical ascent by bicycle in 24 hours by a team is 20,049.9 metres (65,780 ft 4 in) and was achieved by Horst Turnowsky and Gernot Turnowsky (both Austria), at the Rinnegger highway, from Weinitzen to St. Radegund, Graz-Umgebund, Austria, from 30 June to 1 July 2007.

Horst and Gernot are twins, and completed the attempt together throughout the 24 hours.
