You'd have a pretty tough job trying to toast this marshmallow over a campfire.

That's because this is the world's largest marshmallow, and it weighs more than a grand piano!

The gigantic sweet treat weighs in at 648.40 kg (1,429.47 lb) and was created by Mazapán de la Rosa S.A. de C.V. (Mexico).

For context, a Steinway D274 grand piano weighs a much lighter 480 kg (1,058 lb).

The mashmallow was unveiled at a special event held as part of the 200th anniversary celebrations of the state of Jalisco in Mexico.

The official record attempt took place outdoors in a temporary industrial plant in the popular Plaza Fundadores in Guadalajara.

Official Adjudicator Carlos Tapia was on site for two days to supervise the attempt and confirm the record.

On 26 April, he reviewed the preparation of the gigantic marshmallow in the company of experts and sanitary inspectors. And two days later, the candy was officially unmolded and weighed, thus confirming it as a new world record.

The process of filling the large mold with the marshmallow mixture took 113 minutes due to its large size, and it also took about 48 hours to let the marshmallow rest and be ready for the official review by Guinness World Records.

In other words, it took approximately 53 hours of preparation and a team of about 100 people to make the enormous marshmallow.

Following the attempt, the record-breaking sweet was distributed to event attendees and was donated to the public for their consumption.

Dulces Mazapán de la Rosa is not completely new to the Guinness World Records family. The company also achieved the Guinness World Records title for the largest peanut mazapán candy in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2018.

Dulces Mazapán de la Rosa is a Mexican candy company, founded in 1949 and with presence in the national and international markets.
