18-year-old super skater Shrishti Dharmendra Sharma (India) has broken her own record for the fastest time to limbo skate over 50 metres, doing so in just 6.94 seconds.

She set her previous record of 7.38 seconds in 2021, and she’s now shaved a whole second off the time set in 2011 (7.97 seconds) by China’s Xue Wu, the original holder of this record.

Shrishti skilfully limbo skated under 51 horizontal bars - placed just 30 cm (12 in) above the ground – without touching or dislodging any of them.

Additionally, neither her hands nor arms were permitted to touch the floor at any point during the attempt, so she held her legs for the entire duration whilst maintaining the splits position.

Shrishti has been breaking records since 2015, when she was 11 years old.

She is an avid campaigner for the Save a Girl Child humanitarian project, and she uses her record attempts to promote the organization.

Every citizen of civilized society should be made aware of the fact that a girl child is as important as a boy child. – Shrishti

The first Guinness World Records title Shrishti achieved, aged 11, was the lowest limbo skating over 25 metres. She successfully skated underneath 25 bars placed at the incredibly low height of 17 cm (6.69 in). To date, no one has been able to break this record.

In 2017, Shrishti took her talents to an ice rink, where she achieved the lowest limbo ice skating over 10 metres at a height of 17.78 cm (7 in). This record also remains unbroken.

As Shrishti grew older in age, her body naturally grew bigger in size, meaning it became harder for her to set new records for low limbo skating.

However, she didn’t let this stop her from breaking records, and in 2020, she turned her attention to limbo speed skating.

She decided to attempt to break the hotly contested record for the fastest time to limbo skate under 10 bars.

This record was originally set by Rohan Kokane (India) in 2013 on the set of our Turkish TV show Rekorlar Dünyasi. Rohan’s record of 4.12 seconds stood for five years before it was halved in 2018 by R Naveen Kumar (India), who achieved a time of 2.06 seconds.

In 2020, Shrishti successfully broke the record, becoming the first person to break the 2-second barrier, with a time of 1.72 seconds. Amazingly, in 2021, she again broke her record with a time of 1.69 seconds.

And now, after achieving her latest record, she has certainly cemented herself as the queen of limbo skating.

Congratulations, Shrishti!
