The Brief

RWS Entertainment Group wanted to create a seasonal theme park entertainment piece that would be both entertaining and educational, with a scientific theme.

The Solution

GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ offered the perfect, customised solution - to host an action-packed show, provide interactive experiences throughout the park and make official attempts at existing world records. This ran over an 8 week period during the park’s peak summer season.

At each staged show performance the audience learned about the science of record-breaking through guess and reveal fact finding challenges, on subjects such as human achievement and loudest sounds.

Alongside this, was the opportunity for the audience to practice, attempt, and even break genuine records in real time, live on stage.

People of all ages were invited to join the exclusive "GWR Club," where they received a branded passport, and explored the entire park for GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS memorabilia and exhibits.

At each station, passport holders collected stamps featuring famous records from around the world, learning about the world of record breaking along the way.

Gilroy Gardens guests also received the chance to attempt the mass participation title, Most people contributing to a stamp image, which they achieved with a total of 4,799 people on 13 August 2017.

Hosting a Guinness World Records entertainment event could be the perfect publicity stunt or production for your audience or visitors. Read more about our dynamic entertainment programmes on our Business Solutions pages or get in touch today.

It’s nice to be able to put an established brand in front of our guests that their families would enjoy and that an 8-year-old would also enjoy. Now that I’ve seen it it’s just so much FUN! We have a lot of members that come throughout the summer over and over again, so their children get the chance to take part in multiple world record attempts. The Gilroy Gardens guests got a real kick out of participating and breaking a world record that incorporated the basket tree stamp image which is at the heart of the Gilroy Gardens theme park.
