Hotels.com and British racing driver Tom Onslow-Cole recently smashed the record for the world’s
Fastest mobile bed at the Emirates Motor Sports Complex, in Umm Al Quwain, UAE.
The online accommodation booking website took on the high octane Guinness World Records challenge to launch its new Middle East portal.
Travelling at a staggering speed of 83.8 mph (135 km/h), it’s unlikely Tom was able to get much sleep on the motorised mattress.
videoThe Hotels.com bed was customised based on a Ford Mustang GT but appeared on the outside to resemble a regular double bed, as required by the Guinness World Records rules.
Onslow-Cole, who has competed in the British Touring Car Championship and British GT Championships, commented: “I was made-up to take the world’s fastest bed record with Hotels.com, it was an unforgettable experience and I hope it’ll stand the test of time – it’ll take some beating!”
