Eoin Morgan (UK) smashed 17 sixes in an ICC Cricket World Cup match against Afghanistan at Old Trafford in Manchester, UK, on 18 June 2019. The England captain’s 71-ball innings of 148 was the first time a batsman had scored a century of sixes – 102 runs in total – in international cricket.

Morgan is England’s leading run-scorer in ODI cricket, with 6,482 runs in 188 innings (204 matches) since 2009, as of 18 June 2019. He scored 118 of his 148 runs against Afghanistan in boundaries and finished with a strike rate of 208.45 (runs per 100 balls faced).

Morgan also scored 744 runs for Ireland in 2006–09, before switching allegiances to England.
