Most points in a heptathlon (female)

The most points in an outdoor heptathlon by a female athlete is 7,291, by Jacqueline “Jackie" Joyner-Kersee (USA) at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, on 23–24 September 1988. It was the fourth time she had broken the record in the event.

Joyner-Kersee’s individual performances were as follows: 100 m hurdles – 12.69 sec; high jump – 1.86 m (6 ft 1.25 in); shot put – 15.80 m (51 ft 10 in); 200 m – 22.56 sec; long jump – 7.27 m (23 ft 10.25 in); javelin – 45.66 m (149 ft 10 in); 800 m – 2 min 8.51 sec.
