The “Daily Wavester” went surfing every day for 40 years, catching at least three waves to shore every time. His streak began in 1975, when a huge swell known as the “Monster from New Zealand” hit Northern California. Dale initially set himself the challenge of surfing for 100 consecutive days but continued for four decades. His streak finally came to an end in 2015. when he needed an operation for kidney stones.
