The longest windsurfing journey is 14,454 km (8,981 mi), achieved by Jono Dunnett (UK), from 20 May 2017 to 11 May 2019.

Jono windsurfed solo from northern Norway, around the Atlantic coast of Europe and up through the Mediterranean, to Georgia in the Black Sea. He carried his own gear on the board for the full duration of the journey and slept roughly half the time under the sail. Many other times people on route provided shelter, food, and companionship.
