Largest pickleball tournament

A total of 3,500 players took part in the 2023 Biofreeze USA National Championships held at Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas, Texas, USA, on 5–12 November 2023.

An estimated 50,000 spectators visited during the week-long event in Dallas, which featured 6,928 matches.

The National Championships was preceded at the same venue by another record-breaking event: the largest pickleball exhibition match, comprising 264 “picklers” for a standalone one-off contest on 5 November 2023.

The winners of the 2023 USA National Championships (including a Triple Crown for Anna Leigh Waters) were:

- Women’s Singles: Anna Leigh Waters (USA)

- Men’s Singles: J W Johnson (USA)

- Women’s Doubles: Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau (Canada)

- Men’s Doubles: Ben Johns and Collin Johns (both USA)

- Mixed Doubles: Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns.

This was an increase of more than 1,000 competitors over the previous record, when 2,342 players registered to take part in the 2021 Margaritaville USA National Championships in Indian Wells, California, USA.
