The largest matchstick model 'Catherdrals of the Sea' consists of 4.075 million matchsticks and is 6.2 m high, 2.2 m long, 3.1 m wide. It depicts a North Sea oil production platform and was made by David Reynolds (UK) and completed in July 2009.

Construction of the model took over 15 years. It was put on public display at The Bursledon Brickwork and Industrial Museum, Swanwick, Southampton.
