Largest Japanese drum ensemble

The largest Japanese drum ensemble consists of 3,437 participants and was organised by the Morioka Sansa Odori Festival Organizing Committee (Japan) at Iwate Athletic Stadium in Morioka, Iwate, Japan, on 29 June 2014.

Began in 1978, Morioka Sansa Odori Festival is held in August each year with participants marching the streets of Morioka City, dancing and playing the Taiko drums. The record attempt was held approximately a month before the 37th festival. The participants consisted of children, students, and adults, who all practiced for the attempt for many months.
