The largest margarita is 34,419.4 litres (7,579.7 imperial gallons), and was achieved by Gobierno de Baja California, Revista Binacional, Tequila Cachanilla, and Constructora ICASA (all México) in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, on 11 July 2025.
The record was attempted in celebration of the 136th anniversary of the founding of Tijuana. The initiative was a collaboration between Tequila Cachanilla, Grupo ICASA, Revista Binacional, and the local government, aiming to bring together institutions, students, and the public through a world-class festive event. The attempt took place at the Hipódromo Caliente, an iconic venue known for its historic ties to tourism and entertainment in the region. 142 gastronomy students worked over ten hours to pour the margarita into a custom-built 40,000-litre tank, using a pumping and distribution system designed specifically for the occasion.
