A 35 year old patient (Egypt) at Bugshan Hospital, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, had 22 litres (38.7 pints) of urine removed from his kidney on 16 June 1999, due to hydronephrosis - an enlargement of the kidney caused by a blockage to normal urine flow. (The klidney's normal urine capacity is 3-5 ml (0.105-0.175 fl oz)). The Kidney was eventually removed on 6 July 1999 and measured 50 x 40 x 25 cm (19.6 x 15.7 x 9.8 in) and weighed 700 g (24.6 oz).
