First videogame treasure hunt

The earliest video game to involve a real life treasure hunt was the adventure Pimania, published in 1982. Players who reached the end of the game received a clue to the location of a golden sundial worth $11,000. The sundial could only be found on one day each year – 22 July – at Hindover Hill, East Sussex. The prize was finally claimed in 1985 by Sue Cooper and Lizi Newman.
