Ruth Chepngetich became the first woman to run 26.2 miles in under 2 hours 10 minutes at the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. She took almost two minutes off the world record, and more than four minutes off her previous personal best over the distance. It was her Chepngetich’s third victory in the Chicago Marathon, also a women’s record.
