Largest display of oil lamps

The largest display of oil lamps is 2,512,585 and was achieved by Department of Tourism - Government of Uttar Pradesh, District Administration Ayodhya and Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University (all India) during Deepotsav’24, in Ayodhya, India, on 30 October 2024.

This is an ongoing record with previous record being beaten by the same record holders this time. The preparations had taken well over a month by volunteers who set out locally made clay lamps which were filled with a bio-fuel and used rolled cotton as wicks. The display was set on either side of a river tributary.
