Highest annual earnings for a television actor in a current series (male)

Dwayne Johnson (USA) is the highest-earning actor currently on television, with an estimated income for the year ending 31 December 2021 of $270 million, according to Forbes' Highest-Paid Entertainers 2022 list. The Rock, a former WWE star who once earned just $40 a night wrestling, is the star – and subject – of Young Rock (NBC, 2021–), a biographical sitcom inspired by his rise to international fame.

Johnson is also the highest-paid actor of any kind on the 2022 Forbes list, sitting at No.4 overall, ahead of Tyler Perry (at No.8 with annual earnings of $165 million) and Reese Witherspoon (No.12, $115 million). He can now command upwards of $20 million per movie, and was reportedly paid more than $600,000 per episode for the TV show The Ballers (HBO). The majority of his income for 2021, however, was from his Teremana tequila brand.
