The most female drivers in an Indianapolis 500 race is four. This has been achieved twice, first in 2010 and most recently in 2011. Danica Patrick (USA), Pippa Mann (UK), Ana Beatriz (Brazil) and Simona de Silvestro (Switzerland) all qualified and started in the Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana, USA, on 29 May 2011. Patrick, Beatriz, de Silvestro and Sarah Fisher (USA) were the first to set this record, all qualifying and starting the race on 30 May 2010.
In 2011, Patrick finished in tenth place, Mann in twentieth, Beatriz in twenty-first and de Silvestro did not finish due to handling problems. In 2010, Patrick finished in sixth place, de Silvestro fourteenth and Beatriz and Fisher crashed and did not finish.
