The highest bounty on a dog is $10,000 (£5,100) for Agata, a female golden labrador who is one of Colombia's top drug-sniffer dogs working in Leticia - a well-known drug transit point for cocaine moving from Colombia to Peru and Brazil. Within the first five years of her working career, Agata had detected over 300 kg (660 lb) of cocaine worth $7 million (£3.6 million) and 20 kg (44 lb) of heroin. The bounty was sited in 2004, following a very successful string of detections earlier in that year. Agata also has a 24-hr guard who checks any of her food for poison.
