The record for playing in the most international matches is 352 by Kristine Lilly (USA) from 1987 to 2010.
Lilly was the second-youngest player ever to debut for the USA when she started in the 2-0 win against China in Tianjin, China on 3 August 1987, at the age of 16 years, 12 days.
Her last game was the 2-1 loss to Mexico on 5 November 2010 in Cancun, Mexico.
She finished her career with 130 international goals. As of the end of 2012, this puts her third in the all-time US national team goalscorers - behind Mia Hamm on 158 goals and Abby Wambach on 152 goals.
Lilly became the first player to hit 300 caps, earning her 300th in a 3-1 win against Norway in Guangzhou, China at the Four Nations Tournament in January 2006, in a game in which she scored.
Lilly played in five World Cups - in 1991, 1995, 1999, 2003 and 2007 - taking a winner's medal in 1991 and 1999. She also played in three Olympic Games in 1996, 2000 and 2004, winning a gold medal in 1996 and 2004.
