In terms of minutes played, the longest ladies' singles final in Wimbledon's history, indeed one of the longest of all women's tennis Grand Slam finals, occurred on 2 July 2005 when Venus Williams beat Lindsay Davenport (both USA) 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 9-7 in a match lasting 2 hr 45 min, at the Championships in London, UK.
