Torry Larsen and Rune Gjeldnes (both Norway) crossed the Arctic ocean via the North Pole in 109 days without assistance of any kind, having set out from the Siberian Severnaya Zemlya archipelago, Russian Federation, on 15 February 2000 and arrived at Ellesmere Island, Northwest Territories, Canada, on 3 June 2000.
