The largest agricultural tractor ever produced is the 670-kW (900-hp) Big Bud 16V-747 built by Northern Manufacturing of Havre, Montana, USA, in 1978. The one-off vehicle is powered by a 16-cylinder, 24-litre (1,472-cu-in) dual turbo Detroit Diesel engine and weighs around 43 tonnes (95,000 lb) without ballast. It has eight giant tyres, each of which is 2.4 m (96 in) in diameter.
