The largest operating dragline excavator is the Bucyrus 2570WS, which is based at Peak Downs mine in Queensland, Australia, and weighs 7,271 tonnes (16 million lb). It has a boom length of 109.7 m (360 ft) to carry its giant 120 m³ (4,238 ft³) bucket, which is in turn suspended from 14.3 cm (5.625 in) thick cables.
