The farthest distance cycled in one hour on a penny farthing indoors (unpaced) is 34.547 km (21.466 miles), achieved by Chris Opie (UK) at the Derby Arena velodrome on 17 September 2019. The attempt was organized by the Global Cycle Network (GCN).
Chris narrowly broke the record of 33.865 km (21.042 mi), set shortly before at the same venue by Mark Beaumont (UK). Afterwards, Chris described the ride as “very painful”.
