Dwane Folsom (USA) regularly takes his dog, Shadow, scuba diving off the coast of Grand Cayman Island. The deepest the pair usually go is approximately 4 m (13 ft). When diving, Shadow wears a specially adapted diving suit made up of a helmet, weighted dog jacket and breathing tube connected to his owner's air tank. Mr Folsom rescued Shadow as a puppy from a dog pound in Boynton Beach, Florida. Shadow is a black mongrel - half retriever, half labrador.
