The most life insurance policies sold in 24 hours is 588,107 and was achieved by Life Insurance Corporation of India across India on 20 January 2025

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), an Indian public sector life insurance company was established in the year 1956 and is headquartered in Mumbai. Since its inception, LIC of India has expanded its reach across 8 zones, 113 divisions, 2048 branches, 78 Pension & Group Superannuation units, 1584 satellite offices and 1168 mini offices with network of over 1.487 million agents and committed band of employees.

Mr. Siddhartha Mohanty, CEO and MD of LIC, in a bid to achieve something great and define the collective strength of all LICians, chose 20 January 2025 as the day to achieve this feat. The unique name chosen for the day was “Mad Million Day”.

On the eventful day, 452,839 LIC agents across India sold 588,107 life insurance policies in 24 hours thereby setting a benchmark record in new Guinness World Records category.
