Highest team score in the IPL

The highest team score in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is 287 for 3, achieved by Sunrisers Hyderabad against hosts Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on 15 April 2024. The Sunrisers' Travis Head (102), Heinrich Klaasen (67) and Abdul Samad’s 10-ball 37 did the bulk of the damage.

This surpassed their own record set just 19 days before: on 27 March 2024 against the Mumbai Indians at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Sunrisers posted 277 for 3 as three batters – Abhishek Sharma (63), Head (62) and Klaasen (80 not out) – scored at a strike rate well in excess of 200. This had bettered a long-unbroken mark of 263 for 5 made by Royal Challengers Bengaluru on 23 April 2013.

Sunrisers made it to the 2024 IPL final on 26 May, but their batting form deserted them against Kolkata Knight Riders. Skittled for 113, with Head out to the first ball he faced and captain Pat Cummins top-scoring with 24, Kolkata reached their target in just 10.3 overs.

Incredibly, eight of the top 10 highest team scores in IPL history were produced at the 2024 edition.
