The youngest driver to start a Formula E race is Taylor Barnard (UK, b. 1 June 2004), who was aged 19 years 331 days when he took part in the 2024 Monaco E-Prix in Monte Carlo, Monaco, on 27 April 2024.
A reserve driver for NEOM McLaren, Barnard replaced the injured Sam Bird to become the first teenager to race in Formula E. Starting the race in Monaco at the back of the grid, Barnard fought his way up to 14th place.
