Ramsey, who plays Ellie in the post-apocalyptic drama series The Last of Us (HBO Max/Sky Atlantic), based on Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed videogame series (2013-), took the record from Molly Windsor (UK, b. 19 June 1997), who was 20 years 289 days old when the nominations for the 64th BAFTA TV Awards were announced on 4 April 2018. Windsor won the Leading Actress award – for playing Holly Winshaw in the BBC drama Three Girls (2017) – at the BAFTAs ceremony on 13 May 2018.
Ramsey’s first BAFTA TV Awards nomination was one of six for The Last of Us. The series’ other 2024 nods were for Supporting Actress (Nico Parker), International (“US Production Team”), Director: Fiction (Peter Hoar), Photography & Lighting: Fiction (Eben Bolter) and the public-voted Memorable Moment Award (“Bill and Frank’s Story”).
Netflix’s controversial historical drama The Crown (2016-23) led the nominations with eight.
The 70th British Academy Television Awards will take place at London's Royal Festival Hall on 12 May 2024.
