Most common character name in movies

The most frequently used first name for a movie character is "John". In a survey of IMDb data carried out in January 2023, film researcher Stephen Follows found that this common English-language name accounts for 2.71% of all named characters in films from the past two decades.

The most common full name is, unsurprisingly, "John Smith" which has been used 92 times in IMDb-registered movies.
