The most home runs hit leading off a game in a Major League Baseball (MLB) season is 15, achieved by Kyle Schwarber while playing for the Philadelphia Phillies (both USA) in 2024.

Schwarber surpassed the previous mark of 13, set by Alfonso Soriano (Dominican Republic) of the New York Yankees (USA) in 2003.

A leadoff homer is a home run hit by a team’s leadoff batter in his first plate appearance of the game. This can either be the first batter of the game for the visiting team in the top of the first inning, or the first batter in the bottom of the first inning for the home team.
