Most sixes in an international cricket career (male)

Between his international debut on 23 June 2007 and 19 November 2023, at the end of India’s Cricket World Cup campaign, opening batter and current team captain Rohit Sharma had blasted 582 sixes in 482 innings (462 matches) from 20,945 balls faced. In a typically brutal 84-ball knock of 131, the “Hitman” floored Chris Gayle’s total of 553 sixes in 551 innings (483 matches; 25,370 balls faced) between 1999 and 2021 by launching five maximums against Afghanistan at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, India, on 11 October 2023 – an innings which also brought Rohit a record seventh 50-over World Cup century.

In the three international formats individually, as of 19 November 2023, Rohit had hit 323 One-Day International sixes (ranked third, behind Shahid Afridi’s 351; Chris Gayle 331), 182 T20 International sixes (ranked first, ahead of Martin Guptill’s 173) and 77 Test sixes (ranked 17th, behind Ben Stokes’ 124).
