Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut (US/UK 1999), starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, was in production for over 15 months, including an unbroken shoot lasting 46 weeks. Kubrick called it a wrap on "Eyes Wide Shut'' on 31 January, 1999, almost 18 months after production began.

Kubrick (1928 - 1999), who died before the film was released, also holds the record for the most retakes for a dialogue scene, with 127 in The Shining (US 1980).
