The highest slackline walk was achieved by Rafael Zugno Bridi (Brazil) between two hot-air balloons at an altitude of 1,901 m (6,236 ft) above Praia Grande in Santa Catarina, Brazil, on 2 December 2021. The crossing was made between two gondolas separated by 18 m (59 ft).

Bridi crossed the 2.5-cm-wide (1-in) slackline barefoot, passing through the clouds at an altitude that took to him to twice the height of the Burj Khalia, the world's tallest building.

“The feeling of floating and freedom has always been one of the biggest motivations for my highline practice,” he told the media after the event, “and nothing can bring this sensation so vividly as a crossing between balloons where both points are in constant motion.”

Bridi’s record was ratified by the International Slackline Association (ISA), including approval of the altitude figure.
