According to The Numbers (www.the-numbers.com), Django Unchained (USA, 2012), written and directed by Quentin Tarantino and starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson, has grossed US$449,948,323 (£327,566,000) at the global box office since its release on 25 December 2012. In 2013, it became Tarantino's highest-grossing film and won both Christoph Waltz and Tarantino Oscars that same year.

Django Unchained took the record from Dances with Wolves (1990), which had grossed $424.2 million (then £259.5 million) worldwide by 30 June 1991.
