The widest monohull ships ever built are the Ramform Titan class seismic survey ships, launched on 26 April 2013 by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki, Japan. The ship's hull is almost an equilateral triangle, measuring 70 m on the beam and 104 m (229.6 by 341.2 ft) from bow to stern. These highly specialized vessels are designed to tow arrays of seismic sounders and microphones, and the ship's extreme width allows for a larger array to be towed.

The ships of the Titan class have 26.4 mW of available power, which allows them to tow up to 24 steerable streams of seismic instruments in their wake. Accommodation is provided for 80 persons and three diesel-electric engines provide a speed of 16 knots (20.71 km/h; 18.4 mph). In summer 2021, Ramform Hyperion towed a record length of 144.45 km on 18 streamers in the Barents Sea.
