Oldest operating restaurant

Casa Botín, in Madrid, Spain, is regarded to be the oldest operating restaurant in the world. It has been operating continuously since it was opened in 1725.

The restaurant is owned by Antonio González and his family has run the place for 3 generations. The restaurant was once a small inn where muleteers and traders ended their journeys with a dinner and a bed for the night.
