A trio of Australian women – Alyssa Healy, Meg Lanning and Ellyse Perry – have taken part in seven T20 or 50-over cricket World Cup finals. Healy won five of the six ICC Women’s T20 World Cup finals she contested between 2010 and 2021, and captured the longer-format ICC Women’s World Cup for the first time in her career on 3 April 2022, with a Player of the Match-winning contribution of 170 against England at Christchurch’s Hagley Oval in New Zealand. Lanning and Perry have both played in five T20 finals and two 50-over finals. Lanning captained Australia in four T20 finals in 2014–20 (winning three) and led her country to victory at the 2022 Women’s World Cup.

The men’s record is five, by a quartet of Sri Lankans – Tillakaratne Dilshan, Mahela Jayawardene, Lasith Malinga and Kumar Sangakkara – at the 2009, 2012 and 2014 ICC T20 World Cup finals and the 50-over ICC World Cup finals in 2007 and 2011.
