During excavations for a sewerage system in 1891, a 28,000-year-old figurine was excavated from a grave in Brno, Czechia. The 20-cm-tall (7.8-in) puppet or doll is considered to be a representation of a Palaeolithic-era shaman. It is carved from mammoth ivory and coloured with red ochre.
