The first human-powered expedition from the Antarctic was achieved by captain Fiann Paul (Iceland), Jamie Douglas-Hamilton (United Kingdom), Lisa Farthofer (Austria), Stefan Ivanov (Bulgaria) and Brian Krauskopf (USA) who departed from King George Island, Antarctica on 11 January 2023 onboard ocean rowing boat Mrs Chippy.
