Horse Racing (flat) - most money wagered

Of the US$40 billion wagered on horse racing worldwide, $17.2 billion (43% of all flat horse racing bets) are placed in Japan. The biggest flat race in the Japanese racing calendar is the Arima Kinen race, which attracts wagers of around $636 million.
