Biggest mobile game prize pool

The biggest prize pool for a mobile game tournament is that offered in the Honor of Kings International Championship. The 2022 event awarded prizes to a total of $10 million (69.22 million Chinese yuan; £8.29 million), while the 2023 edition affectively matched this with a total pot of 69 million Chinese yuan ($9.75 million; £7.67 million).

Honor of Kings (Tencent Games, 2015) is a quick-match multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) that boasts 100 million daily active players.

Honor of Kings International Championship 2022, held in December 2022 in Shenzhen, China and Seoul, Korea, beat the previous mobile game prize pool record of $7,742,070, set by the Honor of Kings World Champion Cup 2021.

Each of the 16 teams in the 2022 tournament received a minimum of $250,000 in prize money, with the champion team taking home $3.5 million. Honor of Kings International Championship 2022’s $10 million prize pool is the 11th biggest in esports history, according to esportsearnings.com.

The 2023 prize pot was announced on 26 April 2023, and equals that awarded for the 2022 Championship. The group stage of the competition begins on 29 November 2023, when 16 teams will be drawn into four groups of four teams. The Championship is organized by the Tencent Games subsidiary TiMi Studios and its Singapore-based games development brand Level Infinite. The prize for first place is 20 million Chinese Yuan ($2.82 million; £2.22 million).
