Most Racing Game of the Year awards won by a franchise at the D.I.C.E. Awards

At the 25th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards on 24 February 2022, Forza Horizon 5 (Xbox Game Studios, 2021) – the 12th main instalment in the Forza series – won Game of the Year to give the franchise its seventh award in the category, from 12 nominations. It followed in the tyre tracks of Forza Motorsport 3 (2010), Forza Motorsport 4 (2012), Forza Motorsport 5 (2014), Forza Motorsport 6 (2016), Forza Horizon 3 (2017) and Forza Horizon 4 (2019).

Forza’s five non-winning D.I.C.E. nominations were for Forza Motorsport (2006), Forza Motorsport 2 (2008), Forza Horizon (2013), Forza Horizon 2 (2015) and Forza Motorsport 7 (2018). At the 2022 awards in Las Vegas, USA, Forza Horizon 5 beat F1 2021 (EA Sports) and Hot Wheels Unleashed (Milestone) to the chequered flag. The D.I.C.E. [Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain] Awards – the videogames industry’s equivalent of the Oscars – have been presented by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences since 1998.
