Ordered in 1758, HMS Victory took 6 years to build. She remains the oldest serving warship still to be in commission - she retains her own Captain, officers and crew and flies the flag of the Second Sea Lord, Commander in Chief Naval Home Command.
HMS Victory took 27 miles of rigging and four acres of sails. Currently docked at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Hampshire. She appears today in the form in which she faught in the Battle of Trafalgar, in 1805.
