The Japanese quiz show Trans-America Ultra Quiz produced by Nippon Television, featured a total of 213,430 contestants throughout its 16-year run from 1977 to 1993, only 31 of whom ever made it to the final stage New York, USA. Nicknamed 'Kamikaze Mastermind' ,contestants faced elimination rounds held in locations around the world, including Guam, the Sahara desert and the foot of the Eiffel Tower where they had to answer 'yes' or 'no' questions.

Prizes for the winners included a racehorse, a helicopter and some land in Nevada.
