The longest mini flying disc throw caught by a dog is 40 m (131 ft 3 in) by Rob McLeod to his border collie-whippet cross Sailor (both Canada) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on 13 November 2021. The record was verified by the World Flying Disc Federation.
Rob also holds the same record with a standard-sized flying disc: he threw a disc to Davy Whippet, caught at a distance of 122.5 m (402 ft) in Thorhild, Alberta, Canada on 14 October 2012. He and Davy Whippet also share the longest time for a flying disc to be aloft before being caught by a dog: 10.59 seconds, set in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, on 9 October 2017.
As per WFDF regulations a "mini disc" can be no larger than 4.5 inches (11.43 cm) in diameter.
