Since November 2012, the International Sport Shooting Federation (ISSF) has established World Record (WR) scores for Olympic events “using Finals results only” – i.e., scores achieved in qualification no longer count towards the overall total. Changes to the ISSF Technical Rules in 2017 meant that finalists in the 10-metre Air Rifle now took 24 shots each, leading to world records in the event being reset at the beginning of the season.
