The record antler spread, or "rack", of any living species is 80 5/8 inches (6 feet 8 5/8 inches; or 204.8 centimetres) from a moose (Alces alces) killed by Glenn B Walker (USA) near Redoubt Bay, on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, USA, in December 1958.
The figures were ratified at the time by the Boone and Crockett Club, which maintains records on trophy game.
The moose itself was apparently not particularly large for its species – around 1,400 pounds (635 kilograms) in total – but the antlers on their own weighed about 60 pounds (27.2 kilograms).
